Despite having turned to crime in his past in order to support his family, Scott is inherently a good man. His one goal in life after being released from jail is to become a real father to his young daughter, Cassie. Although he may not appear to be the prototypical hero on paper, Scott’s physical agility, expertise in technology and strong moral compass make him an ideal candidate to take on the mantle of Ant-Man. In doing so, Scott is tasked with a mission by Hank Pym to steal the Yellowjacket suit, a technology that could destroy the world as we know it.
Hank Pym is one of Marvel's smartest characters and in the comics was one of the founding members of The Avengers. A man of science, Hank discovered the key to the shrinking technology and mastered the ability to control ants. With his newfound powers, Hank became S.H.I.E.L.D’s greatest asset, a secret agent known as the Ant-Man. After a tragic mission, however, Hank vowed to never share the secrets of his shrinking abilities with the world. In the present, when his old protégé Darren Cross seeks to use this hidden technology, Hank must recruit a master burglar, Scott Lang to thwart Cross’s evil agenda.
Hope Van Dyne
Hope is the daughter of Hank Pym, who not only inherited her father’s brains, but his bravery as well. Growing up in the shadow of her parents’ legacy as super spies, Hope traveled the world, becoming a master strategist and fighter, only to return and one day become Chairman of the Board of her father’s old company, Pym Tech. Although she and her father have a very strained relationship, Hope plays an integral role in the heist and becomes an incredible hero in her own right.
Darren Cross was once Hank Pym’s young protégé, whom he took under his wing during the early days at Hank’s company. But Darren and Hank eventually split. Darren doesn’t recognize the potential perils of the shrinking technology and works tirelessly to uncover Hank’s secrets. Through dangerous experimentation, Darren creates a highly advanced, modern version of Hank’s suit, which he calls the Yellowjacket.
